Reservations

The Multicultural Center offers an array of valuable amenities for students on campus. From the library resources to reservation options, the Multicultural Center establishes an environment where people can express their diverse backgrounds, share experiences and engage in meaningful conversations in a safe space. The Multicultural Center staff encourages cross-cultural experiences and values the beliefs of every individual they meet.

The center is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the Georgia State University community for multicultural meetings and events by reservation request.

Reservations for Conference Rooms and Front Area
The spacious front area is great for holding group meetings or social events. There are also three conference rooms available to groups during business hours. One of the conference rooms has a smart board where individuals can prepare, practice or deliver presentations. All of the rooms can be reserved ahead of time by submitting the Multicultural Center Room Reservations Form. They are great places to study, hold meetings or have group gatherings.

Reservations for the Mediation Room
The Multicultural Center is excited to announce the opening of the meditation room! This space is available throughout the day on a drop-in basis for quiet meditation, prayer and other spiritual or self-care practices. When using the space, sound is kept to a minimum in consideration of other people as well as to maximize mediation. Food and beverages are not permitted in the space with the exception of water. Only one person is allowed to use the mediation room at one time. If television access is needed, please check out with the front desk staff. An I.D will be used to reserve technology. The guidelines for this space are posted just outside the room and are listed below for reference. The meditation space will be monitored and maintained by Multicultural Center staff.

Opportunities for Faculty
Faculty also may want to reserve the Multicultural Center for special class presentations or other educational activities. For example, the facility is great for holding discussions and breakout sessions. The front area has comfortable sofas and chairs and is conducive for small groups but can accommodate up to 25 people using additional stack chairs. In addition to reserving the front area, faculty may consider reserving any of the conference rooms or placing one of the library resources on reserve for students to use in the center. Faculty can even set up a classroom lunch and learn at the Multicultural Center by contacting campus catering. The Multicultural Center is very accommodating and would love to help faculty in whatever way they may need.
